Common Questions
-
We believe pricing should be simple and transparent, with no surprises. Comprehensive evaluations are $400, and individualized therapy sessions are $185. Myofunctional therapy clients will also purchase a $50 therapy toolkit containing the materials needed for treatment and home practice. Consumable items will be replenished as needed, while replacement kits for lost or damaged non-consumable tools are available for $15.
-
We offer complimentary screenings to help answer your initial questions and determine whether a full evaluation or therapy may be a good fit for you or your child. This takes the guesswork out of the process and gives your family guidance before making a financial commitment.
-
Most clients attend therapy once a week, but each care plan is tailored to your child’s individual needs, goals, and availability. Following the evaluation, your therapist will recommend a schedule designed to support meaningful and sustainable progress.
-
Rather than the typical 30-minute appointment, our pediatric sessions are scheduled for a full hour. This includes approximately 45 minutes of individualized, direct care and 15 minutes of parent coaching to review strategies and activities to continue at home throughout the week. This extended time helps us build meaningful relationships with our clients, move at each child’s pace, and create more consistent, sustainable progress.
-
Parent involvement is an important part of our approach. We reserve time during each session to discuss your child’s progress, answer questions, and teach practical strategies you can use at home between appointments.

Turning Tides is a private-pay practice and does not bill insurance directly. However, our services may qualify for out-of-network benefits through your insurance provider. Upon request, we can provide a superbill for you to submit for possible reimbursement. While many families have successfully received reimbursement, coverage varies by plan and cannot be guaranteed. We encourage you to contact your insurance provider to verify your out-of-network benefits.
-
Because Turning Tides is a private-pay practice, you do not need a referral to receive services. If your insurance provider requires a referral for possible out-of-network reimbursement, we are happy to provide your primary care provider with the information needed to submit one.
-
We are proud to be a direct-pay provider for the Step Up For Students with Unique Abilities Scholarship. When scholarship funds are available, eligible services can be billed directly to your child’s scholarship account, meaning you do not have to pay out of pocket and wait for reimbursement.
